Kort's Pony League tryouts

Kort had tryouts for Pony baseball tonight. He did terrible which is "good."
A month ago, I asked "Lane" if he was coaching baseball again this year (he has coached Kort since he was 9 yrs old.) Kort really likes him and playing for Lane makes Kort happy.
Last night, I got a text from Lane that said, "have him bat left handed" and we all know what that means. hahaha.

Kort wanted to take his ball bag with all his catcher's gear. I made him put it back in the house and only take his mitt. haha. We decided that he would wear tennis shoes and sweat pants (when all the other boys would be wearing a full uniform and cleats.) He was also wearing a form fitting jacket (a cheer team jacket). So, we were all ready for "the charade." haha

He didn't bring a bat, so he asked a smaller kid if he could use his bat. IT WAS A 30 INCH BAT!! That is the size Kamarie uses!! LOL. He steps up to the plate, and asks the guy running the tryout which hand goes on top of the bat to bat left- handed.
OMG! HOLD ME BACK. IMMA PEE MY PANTS!!

I am videoing and laughing cause Kort is so good at this BS stuff. He swung really well at all 3 pitches and missed all 3 just right, then he took off running at about half speed, but it looked like it was his full speed. LOL
When he took the grounders, he got them in his glove, but flipped a couple of them out for looks, grabbed them back up, and threw them to first in a one-hop (which is not good, but in our case was good). The flies to the outfield were...hard. Hard to miss. hahaha. He dropped the first one, but the next two he caught cause it is hard to fake being bad at catching fly balls. His throws were weak to the infield, and I couldn't tell if his shoulder really did hurt or if he was faking that as well.

As he headed back to the infield, the one coach we did NOT want to get (cause of his drama and yelling~Dinsmore) asked Kort if he was Lane's catcher from last year. Kort told him he was. DANG IT!!
On the way home, I was freaking out. I texted Lane and told him that "Dinsmore is on to us!!!" and a couple of other excuses to tell other coaches as to why no one else would want Kort like: he hurt his shoulder wrestling a few months ago and can't throw a ball.

I told my family at 9pm tonight that when Lane calls to tell me if Kort is on his team or not on his team, I will not know if he is messing with me or not cause that is what Lane does every year.

Then, Lane called. LOL

Lane went on and on about maybe he got him maybe he didn't, and is he really hurt, cause Lane wants to win (he really likes to win, but having fun is the biggest thing for Lane) and if he did get Kort, then what was he gonna have Kort do now if he can't throw a ball and on and on messing with me like he always does cause it gets me all messed up. So...

Lane got to pick 2nd out of 6 teams. He picked his assistant coach's kid first, then his turn to pick again-he picked Kort Sullivan. The other coaches LOOKED AT HIM like he was OUT OF HIS MIND!!! LOL OMG. He made up some nonsense that "his mom would be really mad if he didn't pick her kid." and on went the rest of the drafting.
Lane said Kort must have done a good job acting, cause when they got to the end of the list with about 10 kids left, you know, the-ones-no-one-wants-but-they-have-to-go-on-a-team-anyways, one of the coaches that had not been paying attention at the beginning, said he guesses that he'd take the Kort Sullivan kid. OMG, the look on the faces when he found out Kort was already picked and he was picked 8th overall. HAHAHA. I can't stand it..... I think i peed my pants.

So, Lane will "have a scrimmage with one of the teams on Saturday, and Kort can't play catcher for him then, cause that will be just too soon for him to let on that Kort really can play well and that he can also play catcher." hahaha

Oh, man, I have missed Lane since the last season!!

This will be good to end Kort's Little League baseball playing days playing for "his coach" with the same couple of "best baseball buddies" that have been on his team since the start.

They had their first game, and they played a team that is not very good. Lane came over to me to let me know that this is the team that picked Kort second to last.!!!!!

Do you understand what I'm saying? Kort was really really good at faking bad at tryouts!!! HAHAHA

One kid came up to bat that is pushing 400 pounds. We like to let him on base every year. This year he hit a double, but made it to 1st base cause of his size. I told Kort to let him steal, so Kort faked letting a ball get by him, but he got to it so fast that he had no choice but to throw that ball to the center fielder. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
